Eindhoven, The Netherlands – Mola Mola is proud to announce the launch of the Ossetra, a new benchmark in power amplification. Housed in the brand's iconic half-width casework, the Ossetra is a 350W (into 8Ω) fully-bridged monoblock amplifier that represents a significant leap forward in their proprietary Trajectum Class D technology. Helmed by legendary designer Bruno Putzeys, the Ossetra project was engineered from a clean slate, with the singular goal of surpassing even the most audacious performance expectations.

At the core of the Ossetra's design is a completely new power supply, meticulously engineered for an exceptionally low noise floor while simultaneously elevating both dynamic range and sustained power delivery. Coupled with a massively enhanced current capability in the output stage, this amplifier can command virtually any loudspeaker with unflinching authority. The full-bridge topology inherently creates a true balanced design from input to output, a configuration that is also gentler on the power supply, simplifying its tasks and allowing for a more elegant and effective design.

A fundamental innovation within the Ossetra is its newly developed, discrete Class A gain stages. The implementation of these stages, which provide the majority of the amplifier's gain, allowed for a complete rethinking of the overall gain structure. This optimization has pushed the entire system's noise and distortion performance to a level that redefines excellence.

The amplifier's bandwidth extends beyond 100 kHz, ensuring a ruler-flat frequency response across the entire audio spectrum. Its vanishingly low load dependency guarantees absolute sonic consistency, irrespective of the loudspeaker's impedance characteristics. Distortion in the input stage is below the threshold of modern measurement equipment, registering at an astonishing -150dB (~0.000003%), ensuring that the signal fed to the power stage is of pristine purity.

While EMI compliance is a mandatory requirement for any electronic device, for a product of this caliber, mere compliance is the bare minimum. The Ossetra is engineered to far stricter internal standards, a feat made possible by the meticulous attention paid to the new power supply design.

The Ossetra also features a newly developed discrete Class A input stage. Its primary tasks are to present a high-impedance load to the source component, provide initial gain, and ensure no DC or other signal-unrelated noise propagates to the power stages. The input stage is DC-coupled, meaning no sound-degrading capacitors are present in the signal path. A sophisticated servo circuit actively corrects for minor DC offsets. Only in the event of a significant, potentially harmful DC level from a third-party source component will a capacitor be switched into the circuit for protection, ensuring universal compatibility without sonic compromise.

This advanced input stage is powered by new parallel (shunt) voltage regulators. These regulators elevate noise rejection and lower output impedance to unprecedented levels. A shunt regulator draws a constant current from the power supply, instantly delivering it to the load when needed, or shunting it away when not. By placing the shunt regulator in close proximity to the load, all AC current loops are kept extremely local and short. The wideband design of these regulators guarantees consistent performance across the entire audio frequency range, minimizing their own sonic signature and allowing the music to flow with unparalleled transparency and realism.
