TEAC Announces Qobuz Connect Support for Network Player UD-701N

TEAC officially announced on the 28th through its Japanese website that its flagship network audio player, the UD-701N, now supports Qobuz's innovative Qobuz Connect feature. Qobuz Connect enables users to directly control compatible Hi-Fi equipment and stream Qobuz music through the official Qobuz app, eliminating the need for third-party applications.

This functionality supports seamless device switching without interrupting playback. For instance, users can listen to music on their headphones via the Qobuz mobile app while simultaneously switching to their home audio system, allowing the music to continue playing through their speakers. Compatible devices can natively handle high-resolution audio sources.

Qobuz Connect also offers unified app control, allowing users to operate desktop systems from their mobile devices or vice versa, without having to switch between different applications. Within the Qobuz app, users can also browse editorial content from Qobuz Magazine.

Currently, as of May 2025, the UD-701N remains TEAC's sole model supporting Qobuz Connect. While other models including the NT-505-X, NT-505, and NR-7CD also support Qobuz music playback, they do not yet offer direct Qobuz Connect compatibility and instead rely on TEAC's proprietary HR Streamer application for streaming functionality.
