Sony Unveils BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7: Immersive 360 Spatial Sound in a Sleek, Standalone Design
Following the recent debut of the premium Bar 9 and Bar 8, Sony has officially announced the latest addition to its home cinema lineup: the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7. Scheduled for a Japanese release on April 25 at an estimated price point of 110,000 JPY (approx. $720 USD), this high-performance standalone soundbar aims to deliver a theater-like experience without the need for a complex multi-speaker setup.

Immersive Audio Powered by 360 Spatial Sound Mapping
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 is engineered to punch well above its weight class. At its core is Sony’s proprietary 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, which creates multiple "phantom speakers" throughout your room to produce a vast, cinematic soundstage. With native support for Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®, the Bar 7 ensures that whether you are watching a blockbuster or streaming high-fidelity music, the audio remains immersive and precisely positioned.

A Major Internal Overhaul
While the Bar 7 retains a footprint nearly identical to its predecessor, the HT-A3000, the internal architecture has been completely redesigned. It features a 5.0.2-channel configuration driven by nine high-performance speakers with a total output of 405W.

Key acoustic upgrades include:
Two-Way Front Channels: Now equipped with 16mm high-resolution tweeters to significantly improve vocal clarity and imaging.
Newly Developed Woofers: The 45 x 108mm main drivers are paired with four passive radiators (50 x 89mm) to deliver punchy, controlled bass that defies the unit’s slim profile.
Dedicated Spatial Drivers: Integrated up-firing and side-firing drivers (46 x 54mm) bounce sound off the ceiling and walls, creating a true sense of height and wraparound surround sound.
Seamless Setup and Smart Integration
Managing the system is effortless thanks to the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app. The app guides users through everything from initial cable connections to Sound Field Optimization, which uses built-in microphones to calibrate the audio based on the unique acoustics of your room and your specific seating position.
For those viewing standard stereo content, the Bar 7 features an advanced Upmixer. By simply hitting the "Sound Field" button on the remote, the soundbar analyzes stereo signals in real-time, extracting individual sound objects to create a multi-dimensional experience while maintaining crystal-clear dialogue.

The Ultimate BRAVIA Ecosystem
When paired with a compatible Sony BRAVIA TV, the integration goes even deeper. The soundbar’s settings appear directly in the TV’s Quick Settings menu, allowing for easy adjustment of Voice Mode and Night Mode. It also supports Voice Zoom 3™, an AI-powered technology available on 2024/2025 BRAVIA models that isolates and enhances human speech, ensuring you never miss a word of dialogue during loud action sequences.
Future-Proof Connectivity and Expandability
Despite its "all-in-one" design, the Bar 7 offers a clear path for upgrades. It is fully compatible with Sony’s wireless optional subwoofers (SA-SW7 / SW5 / SW3) and rear speakers (SA-RS5 / RS3S). Notably, the Bar 7 now supports Dual Subwoofer configurations, allowing users to connect two SA-SW7 units for massive, distortion-free low-end pressure.

Technical highlights include:
HDMI 2.1: Features eARC support and passthrough for 8K HDR, 4K/120p, and Dolby Vision®, making it an ideal companion for the PlayStation 5 and next-gen consoles.
Wireless Streaming: Equipped with Bluetooth® 6.0 (supporting LDAC, AAC, and SBC), Spotify Connect, and Apple AirPlay.
Compact Form Factor: Measuring just 950 x 125 x 64 mm and weighing 4.6 kg, it fits elegantly under most modern TV stands.
